Chaz Thorne, MBA

COMPETITIVE STRATEGY

Chaz is a strategist and best-selling author who has helmed multimillion-dollar companies in entertainment, technology, and agri-tech. He has created fundraising and awareness strategies for over 32 local, provincial, national, and international non-profits ranging in size from $150k/yr. to $180m/yr. (United Way Toronto, War Child, Diabetes Canada, Right to Play, Habitat for Humanity, Outward Bound) Select corporate strategy clients include Sun Life, GFL, Weston Foods, Algoma Central, GIP, and Stantec.


An MBA graduate of both the Kellogg School of Management and Schulich School of Business, Chaz is a Certified Professional Facilitator (International Association of Facilitators), a certified Solution-Focused Coach through Erickson International (ESFCD), and a Certified Sales Professional (Canadian Professional Sales Association). He enjoys sharing his passion for strategic thinking with others and was founding instructor of “Mastering Strategy” at Dalhousie University.

Paul MacInnis, BA

DIGITAL STRATEGY

A social entrepreneur before it was cool. A seasoned veteran of event production, online course production, and workshop design. Blissful when creating revenue for soulful thought leaders. As a producer, Paul has worked with world-class inspirational authors and speakers to inspire personal and social change through live events, workshops, retreats, digital products, and traditional publishing.


His work has taken him across Canada, the US, and France, and his collaborators include bestselling authors Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Elizabeth Gilbert, Anne Berube, Julie Daniluk, James Van Praagh, Anita Moorjani, Gabrielle Bernstein, Dr. William Davis, Gregg Braden, and many more. He also has significant experience in developing corporate activation campaigns (Saltwire, RBC, TD, BMO) and non-profit fundraising and events through several years of work with Bridgeway Academy and Centre for Suicide Prevention.

Dr. Carole MacInnis, MA, Ph.D

ADULT LEARNING

Carole has decades of experience working in the fields of psychology and education. She has been the program director in educational, non-profit, and for-profit organizations. She has a strong background in assessment in various clinical and educational settings and was a professor at Acadia University.

Carole has her master’s degree in counselling psychology from Texas Tech University and is a Registered Psychologist. She also holds a Ph.D. in Education from Dalhousie University.

Lisa Caron, BA, MBA

OPERATIONS & RESEARCH STRATEGY

Lisa is a strategist, researcher, and operations-focused leader who believes in the unmatched power of strong personal and business relationships. Having spent much of her career working in marine and aviation safety, she knows her way around highly regulated sectors. Her time in these industries involved mentoring sales and operations teams on sales, distribution, and logistics.

Alongside her operations work, Lisa is an active researcher and is currently researching the effects of gender on organizational leadership. 

Lisa has a B.A. in Psychology and M.B.A., both from Saint Mary’s University.

Christel LeBlanc, MDes

BRAND & DESIGN STRATEGY

Christel is a designer, artist and teacher who specializes in branding and communication design for businesses, research institutes and non-profits. She has since worked with hundreds of clients including Dalhousie University's Ocean Tracking Network and MEOPAR, Mindful Magazine, WWF Canada, UK-based Privacy International, the Halifax Women's History Society, the Nova Scotia Nature Trust, St Mary's University, University of King's College, the Avalon Sexual Assault Centre and many independent artists, filmmakers, health practitioners, farmers and social activists. 

She graduated from NSCAD University's Master of Design program in 2010 and has taught in NSCAD's Division of Design since 2012.

Mike Maloney, BBA, BPR

PR & MEDIA RELATIONS STRATEGY

Mike is an award-winning PR and marketing communications strategist who has helped amplify some of North America’s best-known brands. Working both independently and with agencies across Canada and the United States, Mike has secured millions of dollars’ worth of coverage in top-tier media outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall St. Journal, National Post, and virtually every major network in Canada and US.


Locally, he served for three years as the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation’s PR strategist and spokesperson, transforming their brand into a local champion and winning an international award for crisis management. As an instructor, he teaches students the art and science of strategic thinking at Dalhousie University. With his knack for storytelling and creative pitching, he has become a go-to resource for journalists and organizations alike. Mike is also a Certified Professional Facilitator through the Intl. Assoc. of Facilitators.

Stephany Tlalka, BJH, MA

CONTENT STRATEGY 


Stephany is a strategist with a background in journalism and B2B marketing for manufacturers. She came to marketing after working in the magazine publishing industry, where she helped launch a popular non-profit mindfulness magazine that flourished on the shelves of Whole Foods and Barnes & Noble at a time when legacy publications were ending their print editions.

Between earning a journalism degree at King’s College and a Masters in Journalism Studies at Concordia University, Stephany has worked at public and private broadcasting organizations, published research on the evolving state of digital storytelling, and helped host world cafes on science policy communication. 

Stephany is passionate about creating content that translates highly technical “expert speak” into accessible, benefits-oriented language, and using marketing technology to help clients improve customer experience. 

Daniel Baugh

RICH MEDIA PRODUCTION 

Daniel cut his teeth as a sound designer and composer writing jingles for agencies across Western and Central Europe. He is a much sought after “fixer” when the message needs clarification. With years of experience serving clients from diverse cultures and in a host of languages, Daniel makes opaque ideas tangible. Using both video and audio mediums, he executes each project with Swiss precision - a consequence of his years working in Zurich.

From traditional radio and television formats to web-based, multilingual interactive applications, he is comfortable with all types of media and sizes of projects.

Some clients and agencies Daniel has delivered projects for: SapientNitro, Ferrari,  Astramedia, Credit Suisse, Parks Canada, MacDonald’s Corp Clearwater and Kleenex.

Roni Davis

DIGITAL COMMUNITY MANAGER 

Roni is a content creator with a background in coaching and web and graphic design. She got her start writing content over twenty years ago when she created and launched what became a popular non-profit information and community-based website that consistently ranked at the #1 spot on Google for almost 7 years.

Her knack for using stories to connect has resulted in her writing reaching millions worldwide, having gone viral on sites like Tiny Buddha. As a coach, Roni has helped dozens of entrepreneurs increase their online presence and reinvent their business models.

Sheena Love

TECHNICAL COORDINATOR

Sheena helps SOULO’s clients through her expertise in programming and application support. From Kajabi to WordPress, and other communication tools like Zoom, OtterAI, and BookLikeABoss, Sheena connects clients with the essential tools they need to optimize their content, tech stacks, and more.

Sheena has a Bachelor of Science, with a Major in Computer Science.
